Water Supply

AMR Meters

At present, a large number of water connections in Dahod lack effective flow meters to monitor supply. As part of the augmentation and rehabilitation of the water supply network in the city, the installation of flow meters at a pan-city level will be carried out. Using information generated from these meters, Dahod Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) will be able to better manage the supply of water in the city. To streamline the procedure in the billing of consumers for the water they consume, CMWSSB has proposed to install AMR (Automatic meter reading) meters with a wireless data collection system on a pan-city basis in two phases. In the first phase, it is proposed to install automatic meter reading (AMR) systems in 12,708 intensive consumer connections (using more than 500 kilolitres per month).

Electromagnetic Flow Meters

At present, there is no proper account of water received, treated and supplied to consumers and a piecemeal approach to calculating the supply to be released has been adopted. The electromagnetic metering of Dahod 5 water supply reservoirs, 5 treatment plants, 2 desalination plants and several zonal and ward-level pumping stations will also allow for better planning of supply and more effective detection of leakages throughout the system reducing inefficiencies. Dahod Smart City Limited (DSCL) will take the necessary steps in installing 251 flow meters on a pan-city basis and create a more accurate, frequent and efficient measurement of water flow, while also regularly sharing this information with a proposed Decision Support Control Room for CMWSSB.
