Hathni Mata Waterfall, nestled near Shivrajpur in the Jambughoda–Pavagadh region, is roughly 78 km from Vadodara and about 34 km from Champaner. Cascading down approximately 100 m along a verdant cliff, the waterfall is breathtakingly scenic, especially during the monsoon months of July–October. Adjacent to the falls is a small cave-shrine dedicated to Hathni Mata, named after a rock resembling a baby elephant that locals revere. Surrounded by lush green hills, the serene atmosphere makes it ideal for family picnics, photography, and a refreshing dip in the natural pool below the falls.
The narrow but well-maintained road leading here winds through forests and fields, offering a pleasant drive though it gets crowded on weekends. Open daily from around 6 or 8 am to 6 pm . Conveniently combined with visits to Pavagadh Hill or Jambughoda Wildlife Sanctuary, it makes for a fulfilling day trip during Gujarat’s monsoon.
